2024 Student Scholarship Contest
Financial Literacy and Mental Health
For this scholarship prompt, we're asking you to discuss the relationship between financial literacy and mental well-being. How does understanding and managing personal finances contribute to an individual's overall mental health?

Eligibility Requirements
Neighborhood Credit Union will be awarding FIVE $2,000 scholarships for current high school seniors and college freshmen. To be eligible, you must meet all of the following:
- Have an account at Neighborhood Credit Union or be related to a member of the credit union.
- Must be a high school senior or a first-time college/vocational freshman (in good standing) with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Must be planning to attend/attending a two-year or four-year accredited university/college or a vocational/technical school.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Entry Requirements
You must complete one (1) of the following to be considered. Please double-check to make sure you've attached your essay or YouTube link before submitting:
- Essay: Word count must be between 1,000 and 1,500 words, OR
- Video: Record a video between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length. Be sure to upload to YouTube and include link with your entry email.
Important Dates
- Accepting submissions from February 1 - March 31, 2024
- Winners notified via email May 1, 2024
- Winners publicly announced May 5, 2024
