In an essay or video, please respond to the following prompt: Managing personal finances is a crucial life skill, yet financial education often isn't prioritized in traditional schooling. What steps can individuals, communities, or institutions take to ensure younger generations are equipped with the knowledge and tools to achieve financial wellness in the modern world?
Eligibility Requirements
Neighborhood Credit Union will be awarding FIVE $2,000 scholarships for current high school seniors and college freshmen. To be eligible, you must meet all of the following:
- Have an account at Neighborhood Credit Union or be related to a member of the credit union.
- Must be a high school senior or a first-time college/vocational freshman (in good standing) with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Must be planning to attend/attending a two-year or four-year accredited university/college or a vocational/technical school.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Entry Requirements
You must complete one (1) of the following to be considered. Please double-check to make sure you've attached your essay or YouTube link before submitting:
- Essay: Word count must be between 1,000 and 1,500 words, OR
- Video: Record a video between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length. Be sure to upload to YouTube and include link with your entry email.
Important Dates
- Accepting submissions from February 1 - March 31, 2025
- Winners notified via email May 1, 2025
- Winners publicly announced May 5, 2025
